I came across one of the simplest, but most profound bits of life advice I’ve ever heard and wanted to pass it on…

Ask yourself:

“What would the person I WANT TO BE(come) do in this situation?”

Then do that.

You might struggle with the options available to you but usually you’ll know the answer to that question. The answer could be tough and cause you some issues in the short term, but you’ll never be lost and it will make you happy in the long term.

Essentially, this is about changing the way we look at things – reviewing situations from a different viewpoint, taking a more objective look from the outside before making fundamental and crucial decisions in life and in business.

We all know how easy it is to get stuck and consumed with the day to day, making reactive decisions because you can’t see the wood from the trees.

To stop this from happening, build in thinking time to allow yourself to step back and change the way you look at things and see things from a different perspective.

Try asking yourself, ‘what would a great person I admire do?’

With perspective and this question, how long will it be before you become the person you want to be?
