When I met Tony at SWD, though the business was growing, the business was quite chaotic and their customer delivery suffered from inconsistency. They lacked structure and systemisation and there were no clear lines of responsibility and accountability. This put a huge amount of pressure on Tony as the business owner, leading to bottlenecks, operational inefficiencies, margin leakage and therefore lower profits.
We systematically tackled all aspects of the business from bringing in the right team to lead the functional areas, systemising the business, bringing in previously subcontracted operations such as joinery, warehouse and delivery to improve quality, consistency and margins. In effect, structuring a business for more efficiencies and better leverage that can scale, while taking the pressure off Tony no longer having to be at the centre of every decision and process.
